A team of Neurosurgeons from Venezuela visited DARADIA: The Pain Clinic, Kolkata, India for their training on Pain Management

A team of four Neurosurgeons headed by Dr. Aniello Romano, Professor of Neurosurgery from University Hospital of Caracas, Venezuela visited DARADIA: The Pain Clinic, Kolkata, India and stayed there for 2 weeks from 15^thth November 2009 to learn different Interventional Pain Management procedures. They are very much satisfied and their expectations fulfilled completely after the training program. Daradia pain clinic organizes training program on pain management every month where doctors from different countries participate including doctors from developed countries like USA and Australia. Pain management is a rapidly developing new branch of medicine recognized as 34^th November to 28 specialty in USA.

A team of Neurosurgeons from University Hospital of Caracas, Venezuela visited DARADIA: The Pain Clinic, Kolkata, India. They were headed by Dr. Aniello Romano, Professor of Neurosurgery aand other members were Dr. Manuel Enrique Gómez, Dr. Francisco Mendez Weffer, and Dr. Mariangelica Leal Mieussens. They stayed at DARADIA for 2 weeks from 15^th November to 28^th November 2009 to learn different Interventional Pain Management procedures. When asked that why they have chosen Daradia pain clinic at Kolkata without visiting some pain clinics at USA, which was easier to them they answered: “We found that Daradia is the only pain clinic where all interventional pain management procedures are taught with a multidisciplinary approach. Also we found the name of Dr. Gautam Das, director of Daradia in many areas and decided to come here.” When they were asked that whether their expectations were fulfilled or not they told: “Our expectations are fulfilled completely.” They also told that Pain Management is very much required in Neurosurgery and they learned most Interventional Pain Management procedures on specially designed teaching mannequins with simulated human body features.

Daradia: The Pain Clinic organizes two weeks post-doctoral fellowship program on Interventional Pain Management for last two years. Pain Management is the 34^th specialty in Medicine in USA. It is one of the most rapidly developing specialties but most pain management procedures are new and not widely practiced even at many centers in USA. Learning facilities are not available widely. Even many centers practice only few of these pain management procedures. Daradia pain clinic on the other hand practice and train doctors about many of these new interventional pain management procedures. Specialist doctors from USA and Australia also came at Daradia for their training earlier.
